Important Dates/ for 2012 Spring Season
MANDATORY MEETINGS
Feb 19- Sunday- 9am-12pm/ Anderson Field
· Coaches Clinic- the Coaches Clinic is put on by South Bay Sports Training. All Managers and Coaches need to attend this training. The training is exceptional and Oak Ridge Little League pays the entire cost for all the coaches to attend. It is a great clinic for experienced and inexperienced coaches and it is Oak Ridge Little Leagues commitment to provide the best coaching for the Kids in our league. It truly is some of the best coaching training in the area. WE ENCOURAGE ANY PARENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING COACHING OR WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED TO ATTEND.
Feb 26- Sunday- 8am-2pm/ Anderson Field
· Umpire Clinic- Umpires from all over the district come to Anderson Elementary and teach Managers, Coaches, and Parents basic rules of Little League baseball. As a manager you are required to attend and bring (2) other coaches or parent with you. By bringing more it ensures that the multiple games you are required to cover get umpired throughout the season. The more you can sign up for this training the easier it will be on you. Lunch is provided and it is a positive event.
March 3- Saturday-10am-2pm/ Santa Teresa Library
· Safety Meeting- This meeting is mandatory for all Managers and Coaches to attend. It provides mandatory information to ensure that there is a safe Little League Season. You will be handed your manager manual, safety kits and other pertinent information. At the conclusion there will be a breakout meeting for each division to meet with their division coordinator to discuss the season.

Big Al Little League Coaches Training
Oak Ridge encourages any additional training and has made this available to managers and coaches of our league. However this is optional and does not take the place of our Mandatory Oak Ridge Coaches Clinic.

THURSDAY February 23 EVENING SESSION (coaches & managers of players 9-13 yrs)
· Learn how to teach the fundamental skills of the game and plan fun and effective practices. Experience Big Al`s “Teach it- Try it- Game it” approach! Season full of drills, games and fun activities for your players. Training targeted at baseball and softball coaches, managers and parents.
5:40 – 6:00 PM Registration and Introductions
6:00 – 10:00 PM Hands on Training Session
FRIDAY February 24 EVENING SESSION (coaches & parents of players 5-8 yrs)
· Learn how to introduce the skills of the game in a creative, fun and effective way. Experience Big Al`s complete practice planning approach that your players and their parents will love. Training targeted at coaches, managers and parents “rookies” and “veterans”.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
March 17/ 8:00am- Anderson Field
· Opening Day Ceremony- The season officially begins and it starts off with a pancake breakfast. All the teams will be walked out onto the field to be announced. A brief ceremony will begin. We encourage the families of Oak Ridge Little League to bring lawn chairs and blankets and get comfortable. Have a family picnic with the team and get to know the parents and kids on the teams. There will be some raffles, contests and other exciting events planned for the day.
